Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled DAS Design & Estimator to support the growth of our wireless infrastructure business. This role is responsible for designing, estimating, and supporting in-building cellular y DAS projects from opportunity qualification through project handoff.

 

The DAS Design & Estimator is responsible for developing technical DAS solutions, preparing detailed project estimates and proposals, and supporting sales and operations teams throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate has experience with in-building wireless systems, RF infrastructure, structured cabling, and low-voltage construction environments.

This individual will work closely with Account Executives, Program Managers, Engineers, OEM partners, carriers, and customers to develop accurate, scalable, and competitive DAS solutions.

 

Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

  • Develop conceptual and detailed DAS system designs for commercial and public safety environments.
  • Review customer requirements, construction drawings, specifications, and site conditions to determine project scope.
  • Produce bill of materials (BOM), equipment layouts, pathway requirements, and infrastructure recommendations.
  • Assist with RF design coordination including signal coverage requirements, antenna placement, head-end layouts, and pathway planning.
  • Coordinate with OEMs, carriers, AHJs, and engineering partners on system requirements and approvals.
  • Support design efforts for:
    • Cellular DAS
    • Small Cell solutions
    • Fiber infrastructure
    • Structured cabling backbone systems
  • Participate in site walks, customer meetings, and pre-construction reviews.

Estimating & Preconstruction

  • Develop detailed labor and material estimates for DAS and wireless infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare customer proposals, scope narratives, assumptions, exclusions, and pricing summaries.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
  • Analyze project risks, labor productivity, installation complexity, and scheduling impacts.
  • Maintain estimating templates, labor units, and pricing databases.
  • Support bid leveling, value engineering, and alternate solution development.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure estimates align with field execution strategies.

Sales & Customer Support

  • Partner with sales teams during customer presentations and technical discussions.
  • Provide technical guidance on wireless infrastructure solutions and best practices.
  • Assist with RFP/RFQ responses and technical proposal development.
  • Support customer relationship development with carriers, OEMs, consultants, and end users.
  • Obtain vendor certifications 

Project Handoff & Execution Support

  • Participate in turnover meetings with project management and field teams.
  • Ensure accurate transfer of project scope, labor assumptions, and technical requirements.
  • Support operations during project execution when design clarifications or changes arise.
  • Assist with change order development and scope revisions.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in DAS, wireless infrastructure, low-voltage estimating, or related engineering roles.
  • Experience designing or estimating:
    • Cellular DAS
    • Public Safety DAS/ERCES
    • Structured cabling infrastructure
    • Fiber optic systems
  • Understanding of RF fundamentals and wireless infrastructure concepts.
  • Ability to read and interpret:
    • Construction drawings
    • Specifications
    • Floor plans
    • Riser diagrams
    • Division 27 specifications
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with OEM platforms such as:
    • Corning
    • CommScope
    • SOLiD
    • ADRF
    • JMA
    • Zinwave
  • Experience with iBwave or similar DAS design platforms.
  • Knowledge of IFC, NFPA, and public safety DAS code requirements.
  • Familiarity with carrier approval processes and venue deployments.
  • Experience working for a low-voltage system integrator or wireless contractor.
  • BICSI, iBwave, or manufacturer certifications preferred.
