Overview

The Account Manager supports a Senior Account Executive in managing and expanding an established book of business while developing the skills needed to become a full-cycle seller. This role focuses on account expansion, opportunity qualification, smaller deal execution, prospecting and sales support, enabling the Senior AE to dedicate more time to large, strategic pursuits.

 

This is a developmental sales role designed for a motivated, early-career seller who wants to build a long-term career in low-voltage systems integration.

  • Grow revenue within existing customer accounts
  • Own and close smaller, repeatable, and transactional opportunities
  • Increase sales coverage and responsiveness across the territory
  • Learn the full low-voltage sales lifecycle under a proven top performer

Progress toward a future Account Executive / Hunter role

Responsibilities

Account & Opportunity Management

  • Support the Senior AE in managing a defined portfolio of existing customers
  • Act as the primary point of contact for day-to-day customer needs, smaller projects, and follow-on work
  • Identify and qualify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within active accounts
  • Manage inbound leads and smaller outbound opportunities assigned by sales leadership
  • Prospecting activities focused on new logos

Sales Execution

  • Own the full sales cycle for smaller and mid-sized deals, including:
    • Discovery and needs assessment
    • Solution positioning (with engineering support)
    • Quoting and proposal coordination
    • Follow-up and close
  • Assist in preparing proposals, quotes, and presentations for larger opportunities led by the Senior AE
  • Maintain accurate opportunity tracking, forecasting, and notes in CRM

Customer Engagement

  • Build strong working relationships with customer stakeholders (IT, facilities, security, operations)
  • Conduct regular check-ins to uncover upcoming projects, refresh cycles, and service needs
  • Coordinate with project management and operations to ensure smooth handoffs post-sale

Learning & Development

  • Shadow the Senior AE on larger pursuits, customer meetings, and strategic account planning
  • Learn company solutions across:
    • Structured cabling
    • Security, AV, DAS, and network infrastructure
    • Managed and professional services (as applicable)
  • Develop consultative selling skills and industry knowledge

Success Metrics

  • Revenue growth within assigned accounts
  • Number and value of closed-won opportunities
  • Pipeline creation and conversion rates
  • CRM accuracy and forecast reliability
  • Customer satisfaction and retention
  • Progression toward independent deal ownership

Qualifications

Required

  • 1–3 years of experience in sales, business development, or a customer-facing role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of organization and attention to detail
  • Coachable mindset with a desire to learn technical solutions
  • Comfort working in CRM systems and basic sales tools

Preferred

  • Experience in low-voltage, technology, construction, or B2B services
  • Exposure to selling into commercial, healthcare, education, or enterprise environments
  • Understanding of project-based or services-oriented sales
