Overview

The Product Manager, Audio Visual (AV) is responsible for leading the strategy, development, and execution of AV integration solutions across corporate environments such as conference rooms, media rooms, training spaces, and huddle rooms. This role focuses on aligning technology solutions with client needs by leveraging leading AV platforms and equipment, including Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Dante, Poly, Shure, Cisco, Logitech, and other ecosystem partners for control panels, DSPs, room schedulers, and collaboration devices. The Product Manager bridges the gap between business requirements, technical feasibility, and user experience—ensuring the delivery of innovative, scalable, and reliable AV solutions.

Responsibilities

 

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define the AV product portfolio vision and roadmap to address corporate collaboration and unified communications needs.
  • Identify market opportunities in conference room technologies, huddle room systems, media and training room solutions, and enterprise collaboration tools.

Market & User Research

  • Analyze customer requirements, AV industry trends, and competitor offerings in areas such as video conferencing, digital signal processing (DSP), room automation, and control systems.
  • Partner with enterprise clients to identify evolving collaboration needs, particularly around hybrid meeting environments.

Roadmap Planning & Development

  • Build and maintain a product roadmap for AV system integration projects, including hardware, software, and interoperability standards.
  • Partner with manufacturers (Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Poly, Shure, Logitech, Cisco Webex, Dante-enabled products, etc.) to integrate the latest innovations into solution offerings.

Requirements Gathering & Prioritization

  • Translate client and business needs into detailed system integration requirements.
  • Prioritize AV features based on usability, scalability, and ROI.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with engineering, AV design, project management, operations, and sales teams to ensure successful design, delivery, and support of AV systems.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales to develop go-to-market strategies for AV solutions.

Product Lifecycle Management

  • Manage the full lifecycle of AV offerings, from concept and pilot to large-scale deployment and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee interoperability testing, standardization of room packages, and vendor qualification.

Product Launch & Adoption

  • Lead product launches of new AV system packages and integrated solutions, including customer training, internal enablement, and promotional strategies.
  • Track adoption and refine product offerings based on feedback and performance metrics.

Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor system performance, customer satisfaction, and support issues.
  • Recommend upgrades, lifecycle refreshes, and improvements in AV designs and solutions.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in Audio Visual system integration, product management, or solutions architecture, with emphasis on enterprise collaboration solutions.

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with Crestron control systems, Extron AV switching and control, Biamp DSPs, Dante audio networking, Poly conferencing solutions, and related AV technologies.
  • Familiarity with room schedulers (Crestron, Extron, Logitech, etc.), wireless presentation systems (Barco ClickShare, Mersive Solstice), displays and video walls (Samsung, LG, Planar), and collaboration platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex).
  • Deep understanding of AV networking, signal flow, system design, and system commissioning.
  • Strong knowledge of unified communications standards and AV over IP.

Professional Skills

  • Proven ability to define product strategy and execute AV roadmaps.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with engineers, sales, operations, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to balance technical detail with business objectives.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing vendor relationships and AV product ecosystems.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I (AVIXA).
  • Manufacturer certifications (Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Dante Level 2/3, Poly).
  • PMP or Agile certification is a plus.
