Overview

The Senior Manager – Contracts Administration will own and manage the full lifecycle for all the Company’s contracts, ensuring effective implementation and execution of contract processes from initiation to close-out. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of contract administration, including risk management, compliance, negotiations, and ensuring the achievement of Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets related to contract execution. The Senior Manager will play a key role in driving operational efficiency, mitigating risks, and fostering strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

 

  • Contract Lifecycle Management:
    • Fully manage the contract lifecycle, from contract negotiation through to contract execution and retention, ensuring effective implementation and execution of all contract processes.
    • Develop, implement, and monitor contract execution processes, ensuring that workflows are streamlined, milestones are met, and compliance is maintained throughout the lifecycle.
    • Design and implement efficient contract execution processes to ensure smooth and consistent administration across all contracts.
    • Work closely with sales and project teams to ensure that contract terms are clearly communicated and understood, leading to seamless execution and adherence to timelines.
  • Service Level Agreement (SLA) Development & Achievement:
    • Develop and implement SLAs for contract execution, setting clear targets for performance, timeline adherence, and project delivery.
    • Monitor SLA performance across all projects, ensuring that teams meet or exceed agreed-upon targets.
    • Take corrective action when SLA targets are not met, collaborating with sales and project teams to resolve issues promptly and efficiently.
    • Report on SLA performance to senior leadership, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
  • Contract Negotiations:
    • Lead the negotiation of contract terms and conditions with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements that align with business goals and risk mitigation strategies.
    • Improve payment terms and cash flow management through contract negotiation, aiming for better payment schedules, early payment incentives, and favorable cash flow structures to enhance project liquidity.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure contracts are properly structured, legally sound, and aligned with company objectives.
    • Address and resolve contract disputes and issues, ensuring that solutions are in line with contract terms and maintain strong business relationships.
  • Risk Management & Compliance:
    • Proactively identify and manage risks associated with the execution of contracts, implementing mitigation strategies to ensure compliance and minimize financial or operational risk.
    • Ensure all contracts meet regulatory and industry standards, with a focus on compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
    • Implement corrective measures and mitigation plans when necessary to ensure compliance and to resolve potential legal or financial issues efficiently.
  • Leadership & Team Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of contract administrators, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
    • Establish training programs to ensure team members are equipped with the necessary skills for effective contract lifecycle management, including negotiation, execution, and risk management.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and other partners, ensuring smooth contract execution and long-term business success.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in construction and / or technology integration contract management, with a focus on managing and executing the full contract lifecycle.
  • Proven experience in implementing and managing contract execution processes, ensuring the achievement of performance and compliance targets.
  • Strong expertise in negotiating, managing, and executing construction contracts, including FFP, T&M, and cost-plus contract types.
  • Extensive experience in developing and managing SLAs for contract execution, with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed performance targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve payment terms and cash flows within strategic contract negotiations, enhancing project liquidity and financial performance.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of AIA (American Institute of Architects) contracts and their application in construction projects.
  • A BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, with a focus on building and maintaining successful relationships.
  • Experience working with both private and public sector clients is highly valued.
