Documentation Specialist - CAD Required

Vision Technologies is a full-service IT/IP integration company for commercial enterprise and federal clients. • Provides computer aided design (CAD) drafting, prepares drawings and schematics derived from a variety of specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches.
• Utilizes computer aided drafting software and other techniques, standards, and tools to prepare technical drawings.
• Coordinates and consults with engineers or designers to complete projects.
• Transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using CAD software.
• Prepares drawing and submittal packages with the assistance of Documentation teammate for oversite.
• Directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.
• Ability to work and perform to meet the budgeted time for the task.
• Prepare soft and hard-copy deliverables as required.

• College degree or AA preferred. 2-5 years of experience specific to the job responsibilities mentioned here would be equivalent to the education.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Vision offerings.

 

 

 

• Hardware Knowledge:

• Basic Computer usage.

• High-speed color laser printers– familiar with general components, troubleshooting, and replacing consumables.
• Large-format printer/plotters- familiar with general components, troubleshooting, and replacing consumables. Also familiar with plotting and using settings to efficiently produce documentation and review prints for engineers.

 

• Software Knowledge:
• Adobe Acrobat Pro– intermediate knowledge or above. This means understanding conversion to Adobe.  Optimizing file size, adding documents, editing, replacing pages, adding bookmarks.
• AutoCAD 2020 and higher– intermediate knowledge or above. The means understanding the creation of attributed blocks.  The creation of title blocks.  Creation of custom line types and plot styles.  All aspects of two-dimensional editing of a drawing (copy, paste, trim, extend, dim, arc, properties).  Understanding the proper utilization of model space and paper space.  Creating drawings in real-world scale. Understanding of xreferences.
• Microsoft Office– intermediate knowledge a minimum; expert preferred. Applications to know include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Must be able to create and apply styles.  Must be able to add captions with automated numbering.  Must be able to use automated cross references.  Must be able to work with modular page numbering and use section breaks.
• Microsoft Outlook– intermediate knowledge. Examples are backing up data files.  Sending submittals for internal review with hyperlinks instead of large attachments.
• Microsoft Picture Manager– intermediate knowledge. Understand cropping, JPG/GIF file types and compression.  Understand resolution and optimizing image size.
