Overview

We are seeking a high-performing Strategic Account Manager to lead and grow key relationships with hyperscale data center clients. This individual will drive the sale of structured cabling and low-voltage infrastructure solutions, including design-build projects and high-speed deployments. The role demands a strong attention to detail, consultative approach with expertise in customer service and attention, deep industry insight, and close coordination with internal operations, engineering, and project delivery teams to ensure flawless execution post-award.

Responsibilities

  • Sales & Business Development

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for named hyperscale accounts, developing long-term relationships with client stakeholders, as well as possessing a hunter mentality to identify MTDC opportunities through target account hunting.
    • Identify, qualify, and close sales opportunities for structured cabling, fiber, and low-voltage systems (BMS, DAS, AV, security, etc.).
    • Develop account strategies, growth plans, and annual/quarterly/monthly forecasts in collaboration with sales leadership.
    • Lead the proposal and bid process with support from estimating, engineering, and marketing teams.

    Account & Project Oversight

    • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and act as the strategic liaison between the client and internal delivery teams during project execution.
    • Partner with internal operations (PMs, field teams, procurement, engineering) to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards.
    • Monitor project milestones, financial performance, and customer satisfaction throughout the lifecycle.
    • Participate in post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions.

    Industry Expertise & Client Advocacy

    • Maintain a strong understanding of client infrastructure roadmaps, evolving technology needs, and data center trends.
    • Represent the voice of the customer internally to ensure alignment with delivery standards, innovation, and continuous improvement.
    • Attend industry events and client strategy sessions as needed.

 

 

Qualifications

    • 7+ years of experience in B2B sales or account management, preferably in data center environments with a focus on structured cabling, and low-voltage systems.
    • Proven track record managing large enterprise or hyperscale accounts.
    • Strong technical knowledge of structured cabling systems (copper/fiber), pathways, testing standards, and installation best practices.
    • Familiarity with low-voltage technologies such as access control, CCTV, DAS, and BMS is a plus.
    • Experience working closely with internal project and field operations teams.
    • Excellent customer communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
    • Willingness to travel as required (25–50%).

    Preferred:

    • RCDD certification or knowledge of BICSI standards.
    • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
    • Background in construction, general contracting, or electrical contracting environments.
