Overview

This summer internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in business operations and process improvement. The Business Operations Intern will work closely with various departments to observe, analyze, and document existing workflows and processes. This role is ideal for students interested in business administration, operations management, information management, or related fields. You will be joined by other interns in different parts of the business so you can learn and grow as a small cohort.

Internship Details:

  • Duration: June 9th – August 29th (Flexible based on academic calendar)
  • Hours: 40 hours per week (Flexible)

Responsibilities

As a member of our team, you will…

Process Observation & Analysis:

  • Shadow employees and observe departmental workflows and processes.
  • Conduct interviews and gather information from subject matter experts.
  • Analyze existing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.

Documentation Development:

  • Create clear and concise documentation of workflows and processes, including flowcharts, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and user guides.
  • Utilize various documentation tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, Google Docs, etc.).
  • Ensure documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible.

Data Organization & Management:

  • Organize and manage documentation in a centralized repository.
  • Assist in the development of a process documentation library.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Collaborate with team members across different departments.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
  • Present findings to managers.

Other Duties:

  • Assist with other administrative or operational tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Business Administration, Operations Management, Information Management, or a related field.  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).  
  • Familiarity with process mapping tools (e.g., Visio) is a plus.  
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • A desire to learn about business operations.
