Overview

 

We are seeking a skilled Foreman to oversee all phases of datacenter installation projects. The successful candidate will manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction. This role requires strategic thinking, leadership, and a commitment to delivering excellence in customer service.

 

This position is located in Columbus. Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Take complete ownership of datacenter projects from the initial work package to final delivery and documentation.
  • Leadership: Direct and oversee team activities, ensuring project objectives are met with high-quality standards.
  • Customer Interaction: Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring all projects meet their expectations and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure all installations meet TIA/EIA and BICSI standards for copper and fiber products, including testing, troubleshooting, and system validation.
  • Equipment and Safety Management: Manage and operate various testing equipment, ensuring proper operation and result storage. Oversee the safety and proper use of tools and equipment, including adherence to OSHA standards.



Qualifications

 

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required. BICSI and other industry certifications are preferred.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience leading teams in a related field.
  • Skills:
    • Foreman must be fully competent in directing his team in assembling, installing, and securing various cable trays, racks, and cabinets used in telecommunications closets.

 

    • Understand basic principles of ground and bonding as described in the BICSI installation methods and must be capable properly bonding cable trays and properly grounding racks, cable trays, etc.

 

    • Knowledgeable in the proper operation of Cat5, Cat5E, Cat6 testers to include proper operation of the test, properly saving test results, and properly downloading and storing test results.
    • Foreman must be knowledgeable in the proper operation of Vision’s fiber power meter testers including proper operation of the tester, properly saving test results, and properly downloading and storing test results on the network

 

    •  Foreman must be knowledgeable in the proper operation of an OTDR to include proper operation of the OTDR, properly saving test results and properly downloading and storing the test results on the network.

 

    •  Foreman must be fully capable of interpreting test results from fiber and copper testers and successfully troubleshooting and properly repairing the fiber or copper cable plant to ultimately ensure a correct and valid test.
    • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
    • Proficiency in managing large-scale projects independently.
  • Certifications: BICSI Technician, Industry manufacturer certifications, OSHA30, HILTI powder-actuated tools, and Confined Space certifications are preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Capable of lifting up to 75lbs, standing for extended periods, and climbing ladders.

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. This role will receive a company vehicle.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen.
